A happy marriage of buildings

I took a relaxing walk along Regents canal yesterday, starting from Roman road and finishing at the Limehouse Basin  It’s a great walk to do as there are so many different styles of buildings along the way.  You have the old factories and warehouses which are now uber modern flats, the contemporary new-build blocks and then the odd scattering of period houses.  The picture below is a great example of old and new coming together.  You couldn’t get more of a contrast if you tried!  Another example we came across was just past the Mile End Stadium where a lone brick built chimney stands isolated besides the canal bank in stark contrast to the modern buildings behind it. Below is a picture of Limehouse Basin – a far cry from Roman road…!
