Different directions for fashion creatives

As I keep my eye on trends in the art, design and fashion world, I am always excited when creatives and designers venture into different ranges of products than their usual forte. It is great to see their ideas take different directions and open up new opportunities. It also means that owning your own designer piece can be more affordable which is nice too!

I have included a few examples below showing beautiful collections of fashion and costume designers and the like  – breathing their unique styles into household items for everyday use.

Probably most famous for her costume and production design for film Moulin Rouge, Australian designer Catherine Martin has designed an exclusive range of rugs inspired by her own life for Designer Rugs.
