I love the drama of this shot. This really is all out Halloween decorating! John Lewis has some great Halloween pieces including these pretty fairy lights. The more pumpkins the better as they create a spooky glow when the lights are turned off. Dripping candles and paper Mache skulls make a great centrepiece for the table.
This bat light looks great with the lights turned down low – perfect for the window cill or mantlepiece. Pick up some olf books from the charity shop as they make great witches spellbooks…
For a quick and easy Halloween make, paint a load of pumpkins in black, gold and white, this colour combo looks super stylish. This is a good one for the kids to get involved in as it’s not too messy. Stack the pumpkins outside the front door and drape with LED fairy lights.
If you’re planning a Halloween dinner party, opt for rich autumnal tones such as terracotta, deep violet, sage green and touches of brass. One easy make is to die an old white bed sheet (maybe from a charity shop) with a Dylon dye for the washing machine. I would recommend a deep midnight blue or dark purple. Combine this with contrasting green-tinged hydrangeas and anything else you add to the table will look fabulous.
Let’s not forget the dressing up! There are great costumes available from all of the major supermarkets (this is from Matalan) but if you want to be a little frugale then I tend to either have a rummage in the charity shops or use existing clothes. I’d suggest having a little look on Pinterest as there are so many homemade outfit ideas.
Spiderweb toppings are one of the simplest cupcake designs to do and will avoid major stress in the kitchen! The trick is to make sure your piping end is tiny and that your icing has started to cool. Failing that, buy some edible spider web stickers.
