Monochrome bathroom for Homestyle magazine

Are you looking for some bathroom inspiration?  If so, check out my Monochrome bathroom for Homestyle magazine.  You still have a few days left to get the latest issue and check out the other 2 bathroom trends we talk about. Is black and white your style? I am looking to re-design my bathroom later this year and this is the look that I will go for; raw textures, earthy colours and special attention to detail including art, lighting and plants.

The cube tiles are the real feature of the room and determine the colour scheme for the accessories including mid-grey, dark grey, black and white. The statement black bath creates a central focal point and contrasts nicely against light coloured walls.

This wire shelving from Loaf adds to the slightly industrial/reclaimed feel and provides plenty of handy storage.  If you want to add a splash of colour then deep olive-green works well, we introduced this colour with the lotion bottles, soap and plants, you can see how it really lifts the scheme (bottles from Muji)

We are slightly in love with this Mojo side table from Loaf, made with a bone inlay, it’s perfect for your bathroom accessories or stacked towels.

Bathrooms should be designed just like any other room in the home, the space should feel calm and relaxing, this means attention to lighting, accessories and Art.  This Whippet picture adds character to the room and fits with the monochrome palette.  Styled by me and photographed by Jo Henderson
